Aqua
Water
In cold-process soapmaking, water carries the sodium hydroxide and helps it disperse evenly throughout the oils and fats. This allows saponification to occur, transforming the ingredients into true soap and naturally occurring glycerin.Aqua is the official cosmetic ingredient name (INCI) for water. In traditional cold process soapmaking, water plays an essential role by helping dissolve sodium hydroxide and allowing the saponification process to begin.
As each Kaptainic bar cures, excess water gradually evaporates and the soap continues to develop its final structure. This creates a firmer, longer-lasting bar with a rich, dependable lather.During this process, water helps bring together the ingredients needed to transform carefully selected oils and fats into true soap. After each Kaptainic bar is made, it begins a curing journey where time allows the bar to finish developing its final character.
Why We Use INCI Names
INCI (International Nomenclature Cosmetic Ingredient) names are the standardized ingredient names used for cosmetic labelling. They provide a consistent way to identify ingredients around the world, helping customers understand exactly what goes into every bar.
