Sodium Castorate
Castor Oil
Sodium Castorate is the official cosmetic ingredient name (INCI) for castor oil after it has gone through the traditional soapmaking process known as saponification. It begins as castor oil, a plant-based oil pressed from the seeds of the castor plant.
At Kaptainic, we use castor oil as part of our carefully balanced soap recipes. Once transformed into Sodium Castorate, it helps contribute to the rich lather and finished character of our cold process bars.
Why We Use INCI Names
INCI (International Nomenclature Cosmetic Ingredient) names are the standardized ingredient names used for cosmetic labelling. They provide a consistent way to identify ingredients around the world, helping customers understand exactly what goes into every bar.
